California Govt now allows warrantless cell phone searches
California Gov. Jerry Brown is vetoing legislation that the police to get a court warrant to search the mobile cell phones of suspects at the time of any arrest.Without this law, California's police will continue their practice of searching the cellphones of people they arrest, "which in the digital age likely means the contents of persons’ e-mail, call records, text messages, photos, banking activity, cloud-storage services, and even where the phone has traveled."
So even if you are getting arrested in California, your digital information like e-mail, call records, text messages, photos, banking activity, cloud-storage services would be safer from prying police eyes.
